Dear Parents,
We are so excited about this year’s theme for Vacation Bible School! Stellar, Shine Jesus’ Light, is going to take us to Space and back. We will explore Space with some awesome Bible Adventures, Bible buddies we will meet, imaginations will run wild with our arts and crafts, playing games will be out of this world, and music the kids will never forget and enjoy dancing and singing too!
We will start registration for VBS soon, and our crews will consist of Pre-K and Kindergarten with three crew leaders, 1st and 2nd grades with three crew leaders, and 3rd, 4th & 5th grades with two crew leaders. Each group will have many volunteers with the crew leaders to have extra eyes on the children at all times. The reason for mixing the grades is to allow for more time at each station to learn more songs and dances, put crafts together, play games, and listen to stories about Jesus. It also gives them more time to eat before we start each evening in our opening, where we meet our Bible Buddies!
Giving the children more time in each station also allows for less frustration and meltdowns from the children because they didn’t get to play the game or finish their craft, more time to color and listen to stories about Jesus or learn more songs and dances to show you at our closing at the end of the week. Also, it gives them more time to have FUN while learning about Jesus! Those are the most important things during the week of VBS!
We are asking that the children going into Pre-K turn four on or before June 1, 2023. We are accepting children that are going into 5th grade. If they have completed 5th grade at the end of this year, we would like them to volunteer to help us at one of the different stations.
Scripture lessons are more memorable. Since Stellar doesn’t rely on more traditional teaching methods, kids experience Scripture stories in powerful, life-changing ways. And that’s something kids of all ages will enjoy and remember.
An essential factor in making this program a success is your attitude. If your child has doubts, reassure them that this is a beautiful opportunity to have fun, make new friends, sing and dance without embarrassment, and learn about Jesus! Your support will speak volumes to the children we are serving. We look forward to having your child that week, teaching them about Jesus, and watching them learn!!
VBS will be held June 12, 2023, through June 16, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:30 pm. We will give more information given out to the parent(s) at registration (to be announced later).
